Born and bred in Johannesburg, he matriculated at Hyde Park High and studied for an IMM diploma at Technikon Witwatersrand in between running his own business, a mobile disco. His official introduction to the music and broadcast industry was when he joined Virgin Records as a product manager and PR – a move that would soon open the doors for him to achieve his greatest goals and follow his childhood dreams.

Armed with experience and a head for business, in 1994 Sasha was offered a position as a DJ on 5FM. He started off on the 1-4am slot, climbing his way up to where he is today. In November 2011, Sasha celebrated 5000 show on 5FM, a feat not achieved by any other DJ.

His soaring radio career has helped position him as the ‘Formula One’ guy and exposed him to a national and international racing audience. His breakthrough moment was when he hosted the first ever Formula One Radio show in South Africa on 5FM – with a dream team of guests such as Nigel Mansell, Eddie Jordan, Jarno Trulli, Jean Alesi, Giancarlo Fisichella and more.

With a profound knowledge and understanding for Motorsport and in particular Formula One, Sasha joined the Supersport team as their presenter of the Formula One racing series for a period of 17 years, also leading him to present and commentate on the GTC Circuit racing series.

He has had the luck and great opportunity to meet and work with some of the world’s top racing champions.

He is currently a panelist on the Supersport Absolute F1 show as well as giving his insights during race day as well; he has written articles on Formula One for local and international magazines and websites; has raced with Johnny Herbert and Ralph Firman at the F1x2 in 2004 and 2005 and has even hosted Jenson Button on behalf of BAT that year.

Sasha was also chosen to host MPH which became Top Gear Live and Top Gear Festival with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. The shows were presented in South Africa over a period of 7 years and Sasha was part of every show. Sasha was also the first person to do a bungee jump out of a car in South Africa during one of the series.

Sasha is also very involved in the testing of cars in South Africa. From entry-level cars to supercars, Sasha tries to give an honest insight into what is available on the SA market. He has his own Youtube channel where all his reviews can be viewed. He also has created his F1 App with the Pitbox looking back at the F1 races during the season.

Sasha is a long time Alfa Romeo fan.

Recently, together with AVIS South Africa, Sasha drove 10 of the top roads in South Africa. The response has been overwhelming and there are plans to expand the series and perhaps even move into other parts of Africa as well. AVIS and Sasha followed that up with a 10 day trip across Namibia in 2017

Over the years, Sasha has DJ’d at clubs and exclusive events across South Africa and in the UK. He is the proud recipient of a SAMA (South African Music Awards) ; he has been voted People Magazines Radio Personality of the year and was the first DJ in South Africa to have an official website and email address.

Sasha recently completed a course in Digital Marketing, Videography, and SEO.

Besides DJ’ing and being a brilliant MC, Sasha loves being a guest speaker and motivating people through his talk on Attitude. Sasha uses the world of F1 to bring analogies of how F1 is so like real life. It has proven to be a massive hit at many talks. It involves a chat and an engagement session with his audience. Sasha hosts at least 12 events during the year where he shares his F1 knowledge with a live audience before and after a race.

Also, in 2020 Sasha was planning on taking a group to the Singapore F1 GP but this has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Sasha intends to host many F1 and Motorsport tours once travel is again allowed.

Sasha currently presents the breakfast show on LmRadio, hosts his Livestream PitBox show on RaceDay.TV and keeps the universe up to date via his powerful Social Media channels.

During the #lockdown Sasha has been using his experience and skills to commentate on some SimRacing events during March, April, and May 2020.
